Forging
Scale off, fatigue life up
Forgings need scale removed and, often, a controlled peen — two very different blasting jobs on one floor.
Why blasting matters here
Hot and cold forgings carry heavy mill scale that must come off before machining or inspection; many parts also need shot peening to raise fatigue strength.
Common problems
- Heavy scale abrades both machine and abrasive
- Inconsistent grade leaves incomplete descaling
- Peening needs a controlled, consistent medium
- Consumption climbs without the right grade
How MPME helps
01
Angular steel grit for aggressive, even descaling
02
Conditioned cut wire for controlled shot peening (workpiece HRC 40–50)
03
Consistent, certified grade so descaling is repeatable
04
Assessment + recovery to hold consumption down
